The Latest in Aaron’s Life

Posted by Holly on Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Hey folks.  It’s been a while since we’ve posted a Hardy Happening and we actually have quite a few so let’s get to it.

Holly’s doing great.  She’s still getting plumper and the baby’s still kicking.  She’s been sick lately but not because of the preggars–it’s just an annual trend.   Dad-gum snotty-nosed kids.  The latest measurements show she’s due on January 2, but you can bet if she stays on track we’ll be pulling the plug in time for the 2008 tax season.

I don’t remember if this has been mentioned in previous happenings, but over the summer I changed jobs and now work for mediaRAIN, a.k.a. Rain.  You can get a feel for who we are and what we do at http://mediarain.com.  In short, we make highly interactive web applications.  I really enjoy working there and like what I do.  Likewise, we’ve recently been selected by Utah Business as one of 2008’s best companies to work for and I’ll back that up. Keep your eye on the November edition for a hidden gem or two.

With the job change, the baby on the way, and a great housing buyer’s market, we’ve been looking for a house to purchase near American Fork.  We recently picked out a humdinger in Pleasant Grove that should, if all goes well, be a done deal on November 10.

And what better time than now to bring out the map. If you take a look, you’ll see two markers.  The red one is where I work…and no, I don’t work in a pasture.  The blue marker is the house of choice and no, it’s no longer under construction. Google’s images are more than a couple years old so you’ll have to be creative.

Can’t get enough cartography?  Well hold onto your shorts cause here’s some more.  The other day I decided to take an adventurous bike ride.  I didn’t really have any path in mind; I just wanted to end up back at the house.  Here’s my journey.  If you’re looking for not only a great bike ride but a journey through the various environments of Provo, this is a great path.  It took me about 70 minutes, but the incredible rate of speed was mainly attributable to my strapping thighs.

Finally, tonight we attended and thoroughly enjoyed a show where Glenn Beck spoke about American responsibility, choice, and common sense.  I must say I would truly be disregarding my own responsibility if I didn’t also share my thoughts on recent events.  Feel free to read my non-Hardy-Hacienda blog posts entitled Thank You for Sharing and The Bailout Blame Game.  And while you’re at it, you can kindly send Holly an email reminding her that bedsores don’t grow on trees.  It’s been more than a full two months since she’s posted and the medicinal stench is slowly wearing off.

Well, that’s all for now. xoxo.
